SEDC Nutreco Sdn Bhd, Entomal Borneo Sdn Bhd, and Natpro Biotech Sdn Bhd have joined forces to launch a state-of-the-art black soldier fly (BSF) production facility.
The venture will focus on producing BSF larvae, which are highly valued for their potential in poultry and aquafeed.
“Rich in protein and essential nutrients, these larvae offer a sustainable alternative to commonly imported feed components like fishmeal and soy, which have significant environmental impacts,” said the partners said in a joint statement.
By incorporating BSF larvae into feed, the project aims to reduce reliance on traditional feed sources, lowering the carbon footprint and promoting more sustainable farming practices.
